Meet Our Donors

On behalf of Coastline Community College Foundation, we would like to thank all of our current donors for their generosity and support. Here are some of their stories.

Neel Buell

Donor Neel BuellA contribution to Coastline Community College is an investment in the future of our younger generation. Last year I felt it was an occasion to express my gratitude for the excellent vision and mission of Coastline.

I chose to establish a Gift Annuity with Coastline Foundation because it will provide me with an income for the rest of my life. It also provided me with good tax advantages at the time it was established. The remainder of money will then be applied to my designated purposes for Coastline Community College Foundation.

This way I am assured I will receive life time income, while having the satisfaction of knowing some deserving individuals in the future will benefit from my giving.

Endowed Scholarship for Hubert C. and Janice Noble

Donors Hubert and Janice NobleWhen my father died, in October, 2000, I received some inheritance money from his estate and I wanted to do something to honor the memory of him and my mother. My father's life was dedicated to service and to education. He was a Presbyterian minister and also a college teacher, and my mother served as a secretary to a public school superintendent. Their values and ideals certainly played a major role in my decision to have a career in education, and they were very proud when I became president of Coastline.

By making a contribution to the Coastline Community College Foundation for an Endowed Scholarship in the names of my parents, I not only honor their lives, but also help make it possible for future Coastline students to pursue their educational goals. Coastline awards scholarships to deserving students every year and the financial assistance students receive can make a critical difference in the ability to be successful in their college work.

Leslie Purdy

Virginia Lovelock Mitchell

Donor MitchellVirginia taught music in Coastline's Emeritus Program from 1978 until her passing in 2001 at the age of 82. Throughout her productive career, Virginia possessed a lifelong love for music. She strongly believed in the therapeutic value of music and its positive influence. As a testament to her love for Coastline, Virginia chose to leave a portion of her estate to the college through her will. Her gift to the Coastline Foundation indicates her loyalty and affection to Coastline Community College. Thanks to Virginia's generosity, our students will benefit for years to come.

Coastline Community College Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of the Virginia Mitchell Endowed Scholarship Fund, which will provide scholarships to deserving music students at Coastline.
